Site Description The hull of the Northerner is remarkedly intact. Only a couple sections of the bulwark are missing along with deck planking along the edges of the deck. The rudder is not extant on site and the foremast no longer is upright but now lies at an angle across the bulwark. The topmasts lie on the bottom forward of the hull. Machinery and artifacts extant on site include an intact rachet style windlass, centerboard winch, a bulge pump, bow sprit, scroll head and cordwood which still rests in the hold. Missing is the aft cabin, catheads, booms and gaffs, anchors, rudder and rudder steering mechanism.
