Site Description The broken hull of the Helvetia is all that exists today. The lower portion of the starboard side is still vertical with the upper portion of the side broken off and laying inside the hull. The port side is somewhat intact and still has the hanging knees, shelf and a portion of the deck beams. The centerboard trunk is extant on site but open on top. The stern deadwood is extant but the rudder and all machinery and masts are gone. Much of the rest of the ship lays in piles of wooden pieces. The commercial fish nets tangled on the wreck mentioned in the WHS description have apparently been removed.
