Wreck Site Information

Lake Michigan
State or Province Wisconsin
Depth
6 to 17 ft
GPS Coordinates N 44° 54.215′ W 087° 24.345′
Site Description The site is near shore and near a protected boat launch so visibility is poor and boat traffic is constant. Most of the ship is gone or partially embedded in the rock and sand lake bottom. The lower portion of the sides of the ship are visible and the aft deck beams and even a small portion of the aft deck is extant. There is one piece of machinery that protrudes from the bottom which looks like the base and bottom of the cylinder of a small single cylinder steam engine. Some of the steel hull strapping is scattered on the site and the stem post is upright and extends about 5 ft above the lake bottom. A long approximately 6″ diameter pipe of unknown function protrudes through the port side forward of the stern.
