Site Description The hull and deck are amazingly intact except for the bow bulwark which is detached and laying on the bottom near the bow. The aft cabin is gone. Unlike most of the Straits and Presque Isle area shipwrecks the Bentley was not in a collision so there is no collision damage. All three masts are down. Maritime rigging on site includes windlass, anchor chains, bilge pump, foremast fife rail, capstan, centerboard winch, two masts, gaffs, booms, one yard attached to the foremast below the top, broken bowsprit, three sets of chain plates and deadeyes, rudder, main boom vang traveler, and steering mechanism. The Bentley has a unique three bitt configuration on the forward bitts and one set of the aft bitts. It also has a solid bulwark with large scupper openings to drain the deck.
