Site Description The hull of the Minneapolis is very intact although the bow has collapsed and the stern has areas of missing planking. The deck is mostly collapsed but there is much machinery still extant on the site including the steeple compound engine, firebox boiler, propeller, rudder, deck winch, and manual cargo winch. The windlass is under the collapsed side of the bow. The collapsed aft deck ports two double iron bitts, a capstan and a heavy wooden bitt. The area around the engine and boiler has a lot of piping and miscellaneous machinery.
