Site Description The identity of this wreck is unknown but it appears to be from measurements an approximately 140 ft splayed out two masted single deck schooner.  There are three main pieces of the wreck — part of the bottom and parts of both sides with the starboard side being the most intact and least buried. The bottom of the ship is buried under the cargo of iron ore but shows the remains of a centerboard, The centerboard trunk is broken off and lies off of the port side of the ship. It appears to have been wire rigged with many of the deadeyes and wire rigging still extant on site. Other nautical features include many hanging knees, ships wheel, capstan, dual piston bilge pump, the windlass drum, a wood stock anchor, much anchor chain and hawsepipes along with many other miscellaneous and hard to identify artifacts. The rudder is either buried or broken off and gone. Only the top of the rudder post remains in the steering gear.
